Are you a COVID-19 health worker? We’d like to tell your story

Whether you work in a hospital in the epicentre of South Africa’s COVID-19 outbreak in Cape Town or a clinic in the rural Eastern Cape, we’d like to hear from you.

We simply can’t do without you.

If you’re a health worker, you’re part of arguably the most important group of people that South Africa has to fight COVID-19.

You’re on the frontline, saving lives.

But that means that you’re exposed to the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, each day you’re at work. You’re likely working long hours and faced with difficult choices.

That’s why we would like to tell your story.

Does your health facility have enough personal protective equipment for health workers and what is your biggest fear? What does your work day look like and have you been offered a SARS-CoV-2 test?

Please consider filling out this questionnaire if you’re a health worker in South Africa. Although there is a space to fill out your name, you can also participate in this survey anonymously.

With your help, we will be able to turn the experiences of doctors and nurses such as yourself into meaningful stories.

Thank you for the work that you do. We appreciate you.

Please note that while this survey focuses on the experiences of health staff who treat patients in hospitals and clinics, we value the services of all health workers. We will cover the experiences of community health workers and laboratory staff separately.
